Fallout Gets Early Renewal for a Third Season from Prime Video

Ahead of the start of season two, Amazon has renewed the series Fallout for a third season.
The renewal and return of season two of the post-apocalyptic video game series Fallout was announced last week during Prime Video’s upfronts presentation, with actors Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins appearing on stage at New York’s Beacon Theater.

The new season follows the epic finale of the first season and takes viewers on a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.

“We’re thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” said Vernon Sanders, Global Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios. “Jonah [Nolan], Lisa [Joy], Geneva [Robertson-Dworet] and Graham [Wagner] have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to life on Prime Video. Together with our incredible partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we’re excited to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the highly anticipated launch of season two.”

Based on the video game from Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout is the story of the haves and have-nots in a world where nothing is left. Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the friendly residents of luxurious bomb shelters are forced back into the irradiated hell their ancestors left behind. They are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, joyfully strange, and utterly violent universe waiting for them.

To date, the first season of Fallout has attracted more than 100 million viewers worldwide, making it one of the top three most-watched titles ever, according to Amazon.

The series stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moises Arias, and Frances Turner.

“The holidays came a little early this year – we are thrilled to be ending the world all over again for a third season of Fallout,” said executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. “On behalf of our brilliant cast and crew, our showrunners Geneva and Graham, and our partners at Bethesda, we’re grateful to our incredible collaborators at Amazon MGM Studios and to the amazing fans as we continue our adventures in the wasteland together.”

Fallout season two is scheduled for December 2025.

What great news that Fallout has already been renewed for a third season! The dark humor is perfectly dosed and the balance between action, drama and satire is just right. I am absolutely thrilled with it!

I really liked the first season. Great that the third season has already been confirmed. Let's see if season 2 is as good as S1 ;-)
I don't know the game so I have no idea what to expect. That's also what makes it fun.
