Actor Steven Williams (The X Files, 21 Jump Street) will appear in the fifth season of the CBS series FBI: Most Wanted.
Williams will play Ray Cannon Sr. play, the father of Special Agent Ray Cannon, played by Edwin Hodge.

The episode featuring Williams airs Tuesday, February 20 at 10pm on CBS and is titled Footsteps. “Casting pulls no punches when it comes to bringing amazing artists on the show. When I found out Steven Williams was jumping on to play my father, I was instantly excited. I’d watched his work for years and knew that he would bring an element that would be engaging to our audience,” Hodge said in a statement to Deadline.

“He’s intense, but hilarious at the same time. It’s a great combination for the foundation of his and Ray’s relationship on the show. Meeting his father opens up Ray’s world a little more for the audience by giving meaning and understanding to why he chose the same path in life to serve in law enforcement. It’ll be fun to see how their relationship develops and also the impact it may have on Ray in the future,” he added.

Showrunner David Hudgins confirmed that Williams will return for more episodes in the future.

The series returns on Tuesday, February 13, and season five follows the events of the season four finale, in which Remy (Dylan McDermott) discovered that the man rotting in prison for his brother's murder was innocent. Instead, the killer was someone much closer to the story. But when the real criminal is caught, a secret comes to light. Remy is the uncle of an adult student who isn't ready to commit to a relationship with a stranger who happens to be family.

For nearly five decades, Williams earned many credits on television and in films. He most recently played Paul Davis in the FX series Snowfall and Tony Carver in CBS/OWN's All Rise. He is best known for his roles as Lieutenant Jefferson Burnett in CBS's series The Equalizer (1985), Captain Adam Fuller in 21 Jump Street, Mr. X on Fox's The X-Files and Rufus Turner on the CW series Supernatural.

He also starred in season two of the HBO series The Leftovers opposite Regina King and Justin Theroux and in season three of True Detective for HBO.

Other titles include Yellowstone (2018), The Chi, Locke & Key and Stumptown, as well as feature films such as the New Line horror film IT, Birds of Prey for Warner Brothers and Velvet Buzzsaw for Netflix.
