ABC has ordered nine more episodes of the drama series ‘Forever (2014)’. While 'Forever (2014)' can hardly be considered a ratings success, the network apparently feels it's performing well enough to be given some more time.
‘Forever (2014)’ tells the story of Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd, ‘Ringer’). He is New York City’s star medical examiner, but what no one knows, except Abe (Judd Hirsch, ‘Numb3rs’), is that Henry studies the dead for a reason: he is immortal. The show peels back the layers of Henry’s long and colourful life through the cases he solves with the help of detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza, Do No Harm).
‘Forever (2014)’ debuted on 22 September with poor ratings, 8.26 million viewers. The ratings kept dropping to a total of under five million viewers. But ‘Forever (2014)’ did better with the Live+7 reports. Maybe that is why ABC gives ‘Forever (2014)’ a chance.
The additional episodes will bring the total episodes of ‘Forever (2014)’ to 22 episodes. Unfortunately, this doesn’t automatically mean that the series will be renewed for a second season, unless the ratings improve.
