Foundation (2021) season three gets start date and teaser from Apple TV+

Nearly two years after season two of Apple TV+'s Foundation (2021) aired, we now have a season three start date.

David S. Goyer's epic saga starring Jared Harris, Lee Pace, and Lou Llobell has also released its first teaser, which you can watch below. Based on Isaac Asimov's trilogy, season three continues the epic tale of a group of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.

Set 152 years after the events of Season Two, The Foundation has expanded far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic dynasty’s empire has shrunk. As the two galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a galaxy-wide threat emerges in the terrifying form of a warlord known as “The Mule,” whose sights are set on ruling the universe through physical and military force, as well as mind control. It’s anyone’s guess who will win, who will lose, who will live, and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons, and Demerzel play out a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess.

The new cast for season three includes Emmy winner Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Oscar winner Troy Kotsur, and Pilou Asbæk. They join returning cast members Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.

Foundation Season 3 (2021) premieres Friday, July 11. The 10-episode season will premiere globally with one episode on Apple TV+, followed by new episodes every Friday through September 12.
