The centuries-spanning story of Foundation (2021) has been renewed once more by Apple TV+. Apple TV+ has ordered a fourth season of Foundation (2021), the science fiction series based on the stories of Isaac Asimov. The renewal came just before the finale of the third season, which aired on Friday.
“There is no series like Foundation (2021), and we feel lucky and honored to pass the torch as co-showrunners to season four,” said co-showrunners and executive producers Ian Goldberg and David Kob in a statement. “We look forward to continuing the epic, emotional story that characterized the first three seasons of the series and working with some of the most talented, passionate creative partners in the industry.”
Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, added: "It’s fantastic to see how Foundation has become a global phenomenon, with fans from all corners of the world. With each new season, the excitement surrounding this groundbreaking science fiction epic only increases thanks to the bold storytelling and the collective artistry of this extraordinarily talented cast and creative team. We look forward to further exploring this universe together in season four."
Jared Harris, Lee Pace, and Lou Llobell play the lead roles in Foundation (2021), alongside Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena Kingwith. New to season three are Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur, and Pilou Asbæk.
