'Friends' is never ever ever getting back together

Ever since the comedy went off the air ten years ago, the internet has regularly turned in rumors concerning a potential 'Friends' reunion. Cast and crew agree: it's never going to happen.

Last week creators Martha Kauffman and David Crane spoke to Entertainment Weekly and denied their involvement in any follow-up of the hit series. Now, actress Courteney Cox, who portrayed the neurotic Monica for a decade, made a point of it to deny all rumors. 'It's not gonna happen', the 'Cougar Town' star tells David Letterman. 'I can't even get a reunion dinner party to happen', she jokingly adds.

In case you've been living under a rock for twenty years, 'Friends' is one of the most successful shows of all time. The comedy about twenty-somethings living in New York premiered in 1994, running until 2004. The finale remains the number fifth most watched series finale of all time, with 52.46 million viewers who saw Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey off. No wonder there have been fans who've been hoping for ten years that they'll once see their beloved Friends again. (That Joey spin-off does not count.)

Now, it seems, the rumors can, just like the show, retire. Crane said in the interview: 'if you want to see more 'Friends' you can watch the DVD's'.
