The cast of the iconic comedy series Friends will come together for a special reunion. That is more than 25 years after the series started. HBO Max formally confirmed that yesterday. It will be a one-off project in May 2020 and the special has no script. HBO Max wants to realize the project to make its own streaming service better known. All episodes of Friends will soon be available on the HBO Max streaming platform, which will start in the United States in May and will probably be available in Europe later.
Friends had a total of ten seasons at NBC between 1994 and 2004. 236 episodes were released. Heavy negotiations have taken place with Friends actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry to participate in the reunion. They have since reached an agreement with producer Warner Bros. The special will last an hour. The six actors would each receive $ 3 million to $ 4 million if they participate.
That seems like a lot of money, but the rights of the complete series, previously seen at Netflix in the United States, are worth $ 425 million. HBO Max has now given formal confirmation of the project.
