'Game of Thrones' creators promise series "finest hour"

The upcoming finale of Game of Thrones promises to be the "finest hour", according to the creators.

Season finales of the fantasy show are relatively uneventful and smooth the transition between the thrilling penultimate episode and the next season. Now, 'The Children' is teased to break that mold. "It's the best finale we've ever done, bar none," the pair said according to The Independent. "The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new cues from Ramin Djawadi - all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we've ever produced."

Season four of Game of Thrones sealed the status of the show with recordbreaking ratings and crittically acclaimed performances, plot twists and technical marvels. The big battle in episode nine last week was witnessed by 6.9 million viewers. Benioff and Weiss are so "immensely proud" of the finale that they're afraid for what comes after. "We're a little intimidated by the episode because now we have to get back to the business of season five and figure a way to top it."

King's Landing, the Vale and Essos return in The Children on Father's Day after a week of absence. The finale airs Sunday June 15th at 9 PM on HBO.
