Genius revolves around the iconic Aretha Franklin. Cynthia Erivo (
The Outsider (2020)) will portray Aretha. The season will premiere on the 21st of March. Two episodes will air on that date. After that, all the other episodes will be released in the next three days. On the 25th of March, which is Franklin's birthday, the entire season will become available at Hulu.
Near the end of 2019, production started, but due to the coronavirus, it was delayed. As a result of that, the previously planned premiere date of the 25th of May in 2020
had to be postponed. Last November, production was completed and thus, the third season will be ready for a March release.
