It has saddened us all here at MySeries.tv to hear of the loss of Cory Monteith, best known for his leading role as Finn Hudson on the American hit television series ‘Glee’. The news of his death was confirmed by his spokeswoman, Melissa Kates. The Canadian police reported the death of the 31-year-old actor on Saturday, the day he was found in a hotel in Vancouver. Monteith was staying in the hotel by himself, his real-life girlfriend, Lea Michele, was not with him.
Even though the cause of death remains unknown, rumours about the cause of death are the talk of the town. Especially his addiction has been brought to light in several media and an overdose has been mentioned often as a potential cause. However, the cause of death is not yet apparent but the police have stated that there were no signs of foul play.
GLEE Executive Producers, 20th Century Fox Television, and FOX Broadcasting Company released a statement of their behalf saying they are ‘deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones’.
Co-stars have released own statements. Mark Salling, who portrays Noah “Puck” Puckerman on ‘Glee’, responded to the news with a simple “no” on his Twitter page. Dot-Marie Jones, Shannon Beiste on ‘Glee’, said she ‘[had] no words! My heart is broken’ on her Twitter. Other stars, such as Zooey Deschanel, star of another FOX series, ‘New Girl’, has also expressed her sympathy by tweeting that this was ‘an absolutely tragic loss of a very talented young man’.
