Soon, Forest Whitaker (Empire) will return to portray Bumpy Johnson. The second season of Godfather of Harlem is set to premiere on the 18th of April at EPIX. Next to Whitaker, the cast will further consist of Vincent D'Onofrio (Law and Order: Criminal Intent), Ilfenesh Hadera (She's Gotta Have It) and Nigél Thatch (American Dreams). Back in 2019, Godfather of Harlem premiered. It revolves around Bumpy Johnson who tries to control his neighbourhood during a long-term prison sentence. It takes place in the US in 1960, and it includes maffia wars and big social changes.
