News about the future of Good Omen comes less than a week after Disney put a planned feature film adaptation of Gaiman's 2008 YA title The Graveyard Book on hold following a series of sexual abuse allegations against the award-winning author. (Insiders said multiple factors played a role in the decision). Gaiman has denied the allegations and said they "disturbed" him.
In December, Good Omen was renewed for a third and final season, with Gaiman continuing to serve as executive producer, writer and showrunner. Michael Sheen returns as Aziraphale, a fastidious angel and rare book dealer, while David Tennant plays the demon Crowley with a lavish lifestyle. This unlikely duo has become a team to save the world from the apocalypse.
Good Omens is based on the novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Sir Terry Pratchett and Gaiman. The new season is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions, the Blank Corporation and Narrativia.
