Molly Ringwald (pictured below) will guest star in an episode alongside regular cast member Ally Sheedy. The two actresses starred together in John Hughes' 1985 classic comedy film. The film also starred Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall and Paul Gleason and the accompanying movie song "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds became a well-known hit in several countries.
The Single Drunk Female series, starring Sheedy and Sofia Black-D'Elia, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington and Garrick Bernard, follows a woman, Samantha, who is forced to move in with her mother and sober up to stay out of jail.
Entertainment Weekly revealed the following about Ringwald's role in the Freeform series:
"Ringwald plays Alice, Carol's wry, witty, 'perfect' sister-in-law and Sam's favorite aunt. Alice always does things just a little bit better than Carol, just enough to get to her, and Sam idolizes her."
Single Drunk Female will return in early 2023, but an exact premiere date has not yet been set. The first season can be seen on Disney+ in various countries.
