The series (aka Winston), which films in New Jersey, was temporarily shut down due to picketing, including on June 1, according to a tweet from WGAE vice president Lisa Takeuchi Cullen. The series is believed to have filmed about five episodes.
In Before, Crystal (pictured) plays Eli, a child psychiatrist who recently lost his wife when he encounters a troubled boy. Crystal also serves as an executive producer on the series, written by Sarah Thorp and Adam Bernstein (Better Call Saul, Billions) directed the pilot. Crystal, Thorp, Bernstein, Jet Wilkinson and Eric Roth produce the series.
The series is a rare television series role for Crystal, who previously starred on FX's The Comedians and ABC's Soap. Crystal and Levinson co-executed the 2002 film Analyze That, starring Crystal and Robert De Niro.
This is the last series to stop production for the duration of the strike. Most of the affected series, including Daredevil: Born Again and The Penguin, can be seen on the East Coast, where WGA East strikers have been vigilant in attacking sets.
