Amazon Studios has announced that the premiere date of Mr. & Mrs. Smith moved from the originally planned November date to early 2024.



The premiere date for Mr. & Mrs. Smith is the latest title to be rescheduled due to the double strike in Hollywood. It is now day 139 of the WGA strike and day 66 of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Mr. & Mrs. Smith will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.



The series, from co-creators and executive producers Donald Glover (Swarm, Atlanta) and Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo), is a reimagined version of New Regency's 2005 action-comedy film, directed by Doug Liman, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the leading roles.

The film follows a bored married couple who are surprised to learn that they are both contract killers from competing agencies to kill each other. The Prime Video series stars Glover as John Smith and Maya Erskine (PEN15) as Jane Smith.

The plot of Mr. & Mrs. Smith: Meet the Smiths: Two strangers, John and Jane, who gave up their identities to become partners in espionage and marriage. Linked together by a mysterious agency, each episode follows a new mission and a new milestone in their relationship. When the cracks become visible, they have to fight to stay together. Because in this marriage divorce is not an option.

In addition to starring, Glover is co-creator and executive producer of the series under his overall deal with Amazon Studios. Francesca Sloane is co-creator, executive producer and showrunner. Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer of New Regency are also producing. Amazon Studios is the studio.
