Adult Swim has secured two more seasons of the animated series Rick and Morty, it was revealed at New York Comic Con.

With the renewals, fans can expect new episodes through 2029. NYCC attendees were treated to a first look through a teaser for a season eight episode, kicking off in 2025 – watch it below.

The adult animated series, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his naturally timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the galaxy.

It features the voices of Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty - from season seven after Roiland's departure - as well as Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke and Harmon, to name a few.

Rick and Morty was the No. 1 comedy series on cable in seasons three, four, five and six, according to Adult Swim, and has received two Emmys for Outstanding Animated Series.

“Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty,” said Harmon in a statement. “Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.”

Added Marder: “I couldn’t be prouder to have taken this baton pass of a lifetime during Rick and Morty’s fourth season and get us to Season 10. Getting to go beyond that now is such a gift I can’t wait to give our fans. Rick and Morty – a hundred years – forever!”

The series' panel at New York Comic Con included executive producers Harmon and Marder and cast members Belden, Cardoni, Chalke, Grammer and Parnell.
