The drama series is based on the DC comic Green Lantern. Dillahunt joins lead actors Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Kelly MacDonald as Sheriff Kerry.
From Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic agents who become involved in a dark, Earth-based mystery while investigating a murder in the heartland of America.

Dillahunt (pictured) plays modern-day cowboy William Macon, a self-righteous, conspiratorial man who hides his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculating facade.
The eight-episode series Lanterns is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who serves as showrunner, Lindelof and King co-write and produce. James Hawes directs the first two episodes and is also an executive producer.
Dillahunt can also be seen in ABC's new crime series High Potential and Peacock's comedy horror thriller Hysteria!
No release date has been announced for Lanterns yet.
