Details about the character are being kept under lock and key. The news comes as the first season of the Marvel Television Series begins, with the first two episodes releasing today on Disney+.
Born Again is the continuation of the critically acclaimed Daredevil series that ran on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. Our hero Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened skills, continues to fight for justice in his bustling law firm. At the same time, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) is pursuing his own political goals in New York. When their past identities are exposed, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
Daredevil: Born Again underwent a creative overhaul in the fall of 2023, after a production hiatus due to the writers' strike, and it apparently worked as reviews for the new series have been glowing.
In addition to Cox and D'Onofrio, returning cast members include Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson as Murdock's friends, Karen Page and Franklin "Foggy" Nelson and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka Punisher. Others on board for the first season include Margarita Levieva, Ayelet Zurer, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Wilson Bethel and Tony Dalton.
Lillard has been on a roll lately, landing roles in one high-profile franchise after another. He recently returned to the Scream franchise with Scream 7, and will also appear in the second season of Amazon series Cross. He also reprises his role in Uni and Blumhouse's sequel to the hit horror video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy's.
In television, Lillard is known for his role as Dean Boland on NBC's crime comedy series Good Girls. He also had recurring roles on Prime Video's Bosch, AMC's Halt & Catch Fire and the third season of Showtime's Twin Peaks in 2017, among others.
