Danay Garcia, Maurice Compte and Cary Elwes have joined the cast of Peacock's upcoming crime thriller series M.I.A.

Compte, Garcia (pictured below) and Elwes join previously announced leads Shannon Gisela, who plays Etta Tiger Jonze, Brittany Adebumola, who plays "Lovely," and Dylan Jackson, who stars as Stanley. The names of the new trio's characters have not yet been announced.

Selling drugs is a family affair for Etta Tiger Jonze (Gisela) in M.I.A. But when her family’s business is threatened, she finds herself in a life she never expected, forcing her to use her wits to survive as she navigates Miami’s criminal underworld.

MIA is the airport code for Miami. The SoFla area (South Florida) consists of Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties. Ozark creator Bill Dubuque will write and executive produce the first episode with showrunner Karen Campbell and Alethea Jones who will also direct.

M.I.A. is the latest series to delve into the underbelly of South Florida, following Chris Brancato’s Hotel Cocaine for MGM+ and two Netflix series: the Sofía Vergara-led Griselda and the first seasons of Narcos focusing on Pablo Escobar, both with executive producers including Eric Newman, Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard. Narcos was co-created by Brancato. Showtime’s original series Dexter was also set in Miami.

Garcia is best known for her roles as Sofia Lugo on the Fox series Prison Break and Luciana Galvez on AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. Other television roles include CSI: Miami, The Cleaner (US), Supernatural and Hawaii Five-0.

Compte (pictured), a Miami native, co-executive produced Hotel Cocaine, based on the true story of his father Roman Compte. He was recently seen in the Prime Video series Bosch: Legacy and NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Elwes recently starred in Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 on the big screen, as well as the series Knuckles for Paramount+. Elwes also brought the character of Lawrence Gordon to life in the hit horror film Saw.
