Season two of Netflix's Wednesday is coming soon, in two parts, that is.

This is the first time in a long time that Netflix has split the time between new seasons for a series, having done so previously for some of its biggest shows. Last year, the streamers' Bridgerton, Emily in Paris and Outer Banks released their latest episodes in two halves, four weeks apart.

Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday follows the eponymous Addams family member at Nevermore Academy, where she learns to control her emerging psychic abilities. In the first season, she uncovers a murder spree linked to her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán), who met at the school years earlier.

The first part of the hit series led by Jenna Ortega will be released on Wednesday, August 6, with part two following on Wednesday, September 3. A trailer with a first look at what's to come can be viewed below.

In the teaser, Wednesday (Ortega) is at an airport, going through security when she triggers the alarm, prompting a TSA agent to warn the teen to empty her pockets. She places her brass knuckles on the belt, which is perfectly normal, her pepper spray, knives, taser, and a double-pronged flail, among other weapons she casually carries around. Oh, and Thing is also found in her bag with a mysterious yellow container. That’s what set off the alarm: her sunscreen. It’s also revealed that Wednesday returns to school, where she’s reunited with her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).

Zeta-Jones previously hinted that their second season will be "bigger and more complicated than you could ever imagine." Ortega shared that the new episodes will lean more toward horror, as opposed to the teen romance of the show's first season.

Season two will see Wednesday shine brighter, introducing Morticia’s mother-daughter relationship and new family members. Zeta-Jones, Guzmán and Isaac Ordoñez, who plays Wednesday’s brother Pugsley, have all been promoted to series regulars for the series’ second season. A spinoff expanding the world of Wednesday with a focus on Uncle Fester (played in season one by guest star Fred Armisen) is in the works at Netflix and MGM Television. Uncle Fester will also appear in season two, as seen in a photo and teaser.

The cast for season two also includes Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Sheriff Deputy Ritchie Santiago), who is being promoted to series regular, alongside the recently added Billie Piper, Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor. Lady Gaga appears in a guest role.
