CSI: Vegas actor Matt Lauria is the male lead opposite Morena Baccarin in the CBS series Sheriff Country.

Fire Country's spinoff Sheriff Country, set to premiere this fall, stars Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Fire Country's Sharon Leone. Leone (Diane Farr) is the division chief of Cal Fire, investigating criminal activity while patrolling the streets of the small town of Edgewater, all while grappling with her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown) and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.

Lauria (pictured) plays Boone, the smart, tough, and capable cop and longtime partner of Sheriff Mickey Fox. Originally from Oakland, he’s used to a different kind of police work. Their contrasting styles of law enforcement make their partnership both complex and sometimes tense.

In addition to Baccarin and Brown, whose characters were introduced in Fire Country, Lauria joins new series Sheriff Country regulars Christopher Gorham and Michele Weaver, who play Mickey’s ex-husband and a deputy sheriff, respectively.

Lauria is best known for his roles as Luke Cafferty on the NBC/DirecTV drama Friday Night Lights , Ryan York on the NBC family drama Parenthood, and Ryan Wheeler on the Audience drama Kingdom (2019). In 2021, Lauria appeared as a series regular on the crime thriller series CSI: Vegas. He will soon be seen in JJ Abrams’ historical thriller drama series Duster for HBO Max.
