The fourth part (or third season) of the hit series is already in production in Paris, Netflix announced. It will consist of eight episodes of 45 minutes. Lupin was created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan. Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rosine also contributed to the creation of the series, which was inspired by Maurice Leblanc's character Arsène Lupin.

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time,” Sy said in a statement. “Together with Netflix, Carrousel, and Gaumont, we’ve invested the time needed to raise our ambitions and deliver even more surprises and enjoyment, both for us and the audience. The fresh energy from Carrousel Studios aligns perfectly with this vision. I’m eager to share the new episodes with as many people as possible.”

In addition to Sy, the cast for Lupin part four includes Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard.

The first two seasons currently rank third and sixth respectively on Netflix’s own rankings for all-time non-English-language television series.

Lupin part one was viewed 99.5 million times in its first 91 days of availability, surpassing the first season of The Night Agent (98.2 million views), Fool Me Once (also 98.2 million views), and Stranger Things 3 (94.8 million views), which are numbers eight, nine, and ten on Netflix’s all-time English-language television chart.

Sy shared the news of Lupin’s return in an announcement video below.
