The popular teen series All American (2018) from showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll and co-showrunner Jamie Turner is returning for an eighth and final season. The CW confirmed that the series will have thirteen more episodes, which will air in 2026. An exact start date has not yet been announced.
The news of All American (2018)’s renewal comes on the heels of its season seven finale, which aired on May 5 and ended with a major cliffhanger involving the Baker family — an open ending that is now finally getting a sequel.
With its eighth season, All American (2018) reaches a rare milestone: 132 episodes, a feat few dramas in the modern television era can match. It is currently The CW’s highest-rated primetime program among viewers aged 18-49 and 25-54, and remains the most popular title on the CW app.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll reacted emotionally in an official statement:
“My heart is so filled with love and gratitude for everyone who helped bring All American (2018) to life and keep it going for its historic run… It’s so hard to say goodbye to something you love, but we’re so excited to be able to do it the way we envisioned with this final season.”
She thanked the cast, crew, writers, Warner Bros. Discovery, Berlanti Productions, and especially former NFL player Spencer Paysinger, whose life inspired Spencer James’ story.
With one season left, fans will have the chance to say goodbye to characters who have become core to The CW. All American (2018) ends where it began: with sports, dreams, challenges, and the central message: “Dream Big. Stay Real.”
