The fifth season of Slow Horses, starring Oscar winner Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, is about to begin. Along with the release date, Apple TV+ unveiled a series of first-look photos from the new season. While the photos reveal little about the plot, they do offer a first glimpse at a striking guest role for Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso), making his debut in the Slow Horses universe.
In season five, the Slough House team is once again faced with a mysterious case when eccentric techie Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung) suddenly appears with a glamorous new girlfriend. The situation raises questions within the team, and when a series of bizarre incidents occur across London, the Slow Horses discover that nothing is as it seems. It’s up to Jackson Lamb and his dysfunctional spies to uncover the truth — in a world where the golden rule is always: cover your back.
In addition to Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, Jonathan Pryce, Tom Brooke and James Callis are also returning.
The series' success has not gone unnoticed: Slow Horses was renewed for a sixth season in October 2024, which is currently in development.
Season five of Slow Horses will premiere on Wednesday 24 September 2025 with the first two episodes. New episodes will then air weekly until 22 October.
