Netflix has officially started filming the second season of Haantjes, the Dutch series that became an unexpected ratings hit in early 2025.

The first season of Haantjes topped the Netflix Top 10 for weeks in both the Netherlands and Belgium. With the sunny weather, Netflix has now started filming the second season. In this new season, Mike, Danny, Ivo and Greg return as ‘new men’ after a confrontational course led by the charismatic but dubious Bram.

Familiar faces such as Jeroen Spitzenberger, Waldemar Torenstra, Andre Dongelmans and Benja Bruijning return, but an impressive series of new names also join the cast: including Tanja Jess, Freek Bartels, Bas Hoeflaak, Bo Maerten, Kendrick Etmon, Sarah Chronis, Peter Blok, Claire Bender, Mark Rietman and René van 't Hof.

The female counterparts — played by Jennifer Hoffman, Jelka van Houten, Eva Laurenssen, Fockeline Ouwerkerk and Frouke Verheijde — are also back. Since their ‘deconstruction’, they look at themselves and their relationships with new eyes, although the world around them does not always seem to change with them.

The direction is once again in the hands of Anna van der Heide and Anna van Keimpema. The screenplay was written by Luuk van Bemmelen and Martijn Hillenius. The production is in the hands of Hollands Licht, known for KLEM and Oogappels. Season two is expected to be released in 2026.
