Peacock has released the first teaser for season two of the post-apocalyptic action comedy series Twisted Metal, based on the iconic video game series.

The first season of Twisted Metal followed the taciturn and charming courier John Doe (played by Anthony Mackie) as he struggled across a ravaged America to deliver a mysterious package. Along the way, he met Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), a deadly, stoic survivor, as together they braved the dangers of this lawless world — including the maniacal clown Sweet Tooth, played by Nuufolau Joel Seanoa and voiced by Will Arnett.

In season two, the stakes and dangers are even higher. Following the revelations of the season finale, John and Quiet are forced to compete in the infamous Twisted Metal Tournament: an all-out vehicular battle organized by the dark and mysterious Calypso. The participants? A mix of murderous newcomers and familiar, deadly opponents. Among them, the iconic Sweet Tooth returns, continuing his twisted games on the battlefield.

However, John’s journey takes an emotional turn when he is unexpectedly reunited with his long-lost sister, Dollface—a masked vigilante with a past and motives of her own. This encounter puts everything at stake, forcing John to not only fight for his life, but to confront his identity and his past.

In addition to Mackie and Beatriz, several leading actors return: Will Arnett as the voice of Sweet Tooth (played physically by Nuufolau Joel Seanoa), Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone, Neve Campbell as Raven, and Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr. in supporting roles.

Twisted Metal is unique in its tone: it combines post-apocalyptic dystopia with satirical humor, cartoonish violence, and sincere character development. The series thus manages to stay true to the style of the original games, while also forging its own narrative path.

Fans of the games and newcomers alike can prepare for a ride full of excitement, humor, and chaos — starting Thursday, July 31, exclusively on Peacock. In the Netherlands, the second season can be seen on Prime Video from that day, where you can also find the first season.
