Tom Sturridge returns as Dream beginning Thursday, July 3, when the streaming giant debuts the first six-episode volume of the new season (Volume 1). Volume 2, a five-episode series, drops on Thursday, July 24, bringing Dream’s story — based on the Neil Gaiman comic — to a close. A bonus episode centered on his sister Death (played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste) will then be available on Netflix on July 31.
The trailer shows the aftermath of Dream of the Endless' fateful reunion with his family, and he now faces a series of impossible decisions as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the waking world from the dire consequences of his past misdeeds.
“To make amends, Dream must confront longtime friends and foes, gods, monsters, and mortals. But the path to forgiveness is full of unexpected twists and turns, and true absolution may cost Dream everything,” a synopsis read.
The trailer features several fan favorites reprising their roles, including Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, and Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven.
