Paramount+ has officially ordered a second season of the crime series MobLand, starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.

The announcement for MobLand was made via a short video, just three weeks after the first season wrapped on the streaming service. MobLand premiered on March 30, 2025 in the United States and other English-speaking countries. In non-English-speaking markets, the series became available on May 30.

Within 70 days of its premiere in English-speaking markets and just nine days elsewhere, the series has amassed more than 26 million views, according to internal Paramount data, making it the second-biggest launch ever for a Paramount+ original, behind Landman.

MobLand centers on a violent war between two powerful mafia families—a conflict that threatens to destroy not only empires but lives. The series combines suspense, drama and intrigue against a backdrop of organized crime. Since its third episode, the series has spent five consecutive weeks in the Nielsen Top 10 Streaming Originals, a sign of its enduring popularity. The series also reached #1 in the UK.

According to Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, MobLand has become “a global phenomenon” thanks to the “creative genius” of executive producer Guy Ritchie, co-writer Jez Butterworth, creator Ronan Bennett and producer David Glasser, and the “powerful performances” of leads Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren.

A release date for the second season has not yet been announced, but the series seems to be developing into a staple in the crime genre of streaming television. Expectations for the sequel are therefore high.
