FX has ordered a fifth season of the critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning series The Bear, just a week after the June 25 release of season four.

According to FX president John Landgraf, The Bear continues to be a global audience favorite. “The response to this season has been as spectacular as any season before it,” Landgraf said. “Year after year, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew of The Bear create one of the best shows on television, and we are thrilled that they will continue to tell this incredible story.”

Season four — filmed back-to-back with season three — finds Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and the rest of the team trying to grow their restaurant amidst time pressures due to financial issues.

In addition to the main cast, recurring roles include Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Matty Matheson, Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon.

Season four of The Bear currently has an 85% Certified Fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was created by Christopher Storer, who also serves as an executive producer.

The new season further underscores the huge success of The Bear, which has enjoyed strong ratings in previous seasons — including 4.5 billion minutes watched during six weeks in the Nielsen Top 10.

The Bear’s fifth season is scheduled to air in 2026.
