Emmy-, SAG- and Tony-nominated actor Bill Camp has been added to the permanent cast of an as-yet-untitled series from Apple TV+ and A+E Studios.

The Apple TV+ series is based on the globally popular crime novels by Lars Kepler. Camp stars alongside previously announced leads Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham.

The story centers on Jonah Lynn (Liev Schreiber), a former soldier turned homicide detective. Burned out from the rigors of Philadelphia, he decides to move to a quiet town in Western Pennsylvania in search of a simpler life. But soon both the town and his family are threatened by the extremely clever and dangerous serial killer Jurek Walter (Stephen Graham).

When Jonah is finally forced to send his adopted daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz), to Jurek in a desperate attempt to save his latest missing victim, the question arises: how far will he go to protect his loved ones? Bill Camp plays Police Chief Ellison.

Tim Van Patten (Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos) directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer. Filming begins this summer in Pittsburgh.

The books on which the series is based were written under the pseudonym Lars Kepler, behind whom the Swedish writing couple Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril are hiding. The thrillers are very successful worldwide: ten books have been published, good for 18 million copies sold in more than 170 countries and translated into 40 languages.

Bill Camp can currently be seen in the Netflix miniseries Sirens (2025) and as JP Morgan in the third season of HBO’s The Gilded Age. He has also appeared in HBO’s Emmy-nominated miniseries The Night Of, the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit, HBO’s supernatural drama series The Leftovers, the Netflix miniseries A Man in Full, the Apple TV+ anthology series Presumed Innocent, and the Netflix thriller series Zero Day.
