The series, which does not yet have an official title, revolves around Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier and former homicide detective from Philadelphia, played by Liev Schreiber. Jonah decides to leave his violent and hard life in the big city behind and move to a small town in Western Pennsylvania, hoping to find peace and a new beginning there.
However, his quiet existence is brutally interrupted when the town and his family are threatened by an extremely clever and dangerous serial killer, Jurek Walter, played by Stephen Graham.

The tension mounts as Jonah’s adopted daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer (played by Zazie Beetz), takes on Jurek Walter in an attempt to track down his latest missing victim. This forces Jonah to make difficult choices and go to extremes to protect his family.
In addition to these leading roles, Bill Camp plays Chief Ellison, the town’s police chief. Rory Culkin takes on the role of Karl, a young idealist who, with good intentions, goes to work at a high-security psychiatric institution. There, he is given the difficult task of caring for one of the most dangerous patients, confronting him with dilemmas and tensions.
The series is led by showrunners and executive producers Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin and is based on the popular books by Swedish writing duo Lars Kepler, who have achieved international success with their exciting thrillers. Director Tim Van Patten, known for Boardwalk Empire and The Sopranos, among others, directs the first two episodes and is also executive producer.
The series will begin filming this summer in Pittsburgh.
