I Love LA follows Maia (Rachel Sennott), a neurotic young woman struggling with her career and personal relationships. When she reconnects with the emotionally unrestrained Tallulah (Odessa A'zion), her carefully laid plans go completely awry. Their renewed friendship—full of co-dependency, ambition, and chaos—puts their friend group on edge as everyone tries to find their way in the city of eternal ambition.
The trailer shows Maia motivating herself with the words, "Keep working hard until your idols become your rivals," just before she misses out on a promotion. Meanwhile, her friend Dylan (Josh Hutcherson) warns her about Tallulah's relentless drive to win—warnings she, of course, ignores.
Alongside Sennott and A’zion, Jordan Firstman and True Whitaker have regular roles, with guest appearances by Leighton Meester, Moses Ingram, Elijah Wood, and Froy Gutierrez.
Sennott is not only the lead actor but also the creator, co-director, and executive producer of the series, together with Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri, and Lorene Scafaria.
The first season of I Love LA consists of eight episodes and premieres on Sunday, November 2nd on HBO and HBO Max. Watch the trailer below.
