Seth MacFarlane's Ted series is about to awaken from its slumber.

The live-action series Ted serves as a prequel to the successful Ted films from 2012 and 2015. Seth MacFarlane once again voices Ted, the unruly, anthropomorphic teddy bear with a big mouth and a hedonistic lifestyle.

The second season is set in 1994 and follows John Bennett, now 17 years old, played by Max Burkholder, as he and Ted work towards their final year of high school. John's family also returns, with roles for Scott Grimes, Alanna Ubach, and Giorgia Whigham.

The first season, which premiered in January 2024, proved to be a huge success. Ted was the most-watched streaming comedy in the United States for nearly two months and was presented by Peacock as the most-watched original title ever on the platform. The series also performed strongly internationally.

The Ted universe continues to expand. Previously, Ted: The Animated Series was announced, also for Peacock. This animated series follows the events after the films and brings together an impressive voice cast, including Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth, Kyle Mooney, and Liz Richman.

MacFarlane previously stated that he is proud the live-action series matches the films in terms of humor and dynamics. Although the television budget imposes limitations, he primarily wanted to retain the same energy, sharp interactions, and absurd situations that made Ted such a fan favorite.

All eight episodes of the second season will be released at once on Thursday, March 5, 2026, on Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service. In the Netherlands, the series can be seen on SkyShowtime.
