The popular series The Bear is coming to an end. The FX Networks-produced series will conclude after the upcoming fifth season.

The fifth season of The Bear is currently being filmed in and around Chicago and will be released later this year. As with previous seasons, it is expected that the episodes will be available all at once on Hulu by the end of June.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who won an Emmy for her guest role as the mother of Carmy and Natalie, confirmed the end in an interview. She responded to speculation surrounding an Instagram post in which she spoke about "wrapping up the story" of the series. According to her, everyone within the production already knew that the fifth season would be the last.

The end is not unexpected. Lead actor Jeremy Allen White previously mentioned that creator Christopher Storer originally envisioned a story arc of about four seasons. In the finale of season four — titled 'Goodbye' — Carmy even decides to leave his restaurant and the culinary world behind.

The series became a huge hit and won a total of 21 Emmy Awards in its first three seasons. In 2023, The Bear won the award for best comedy series and several cast members received acting awards, including Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colon-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

In addition to them, the cast also includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Matty Matheson, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Corey Hendrix.
