The anthology series The Terror returns with a new, chilling storyline.

The story of The Terror season three, subtitled Devil in Silver, revolves around Pepper, played by Dan Stevens, a worker who, through a combination of bad luck and a conflict gone awry, is wrongfully admitted to a psychiatric institution: New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital.

What begins as a confusing situation quickly turns into a nightmare. In the hospital, he is confronted with uncooperative patients, doctors with dark secrets, and possibly even a supernatural presence—the devil himself.

As Pepper tries to escape this oppressive environment, he discovers that nothing is as it seems. His only chance for freedom seems to lie in confronting a malevolent entity that feeds on the suffering within the institution's walls. At the same time, he grows aware that the greatest demons may reside within himself.

The series is based on the book by Victor LaValle and consists of six episodes. Big names are involved behind the scenes: Ridley Scott is an executive producer, and the first episodes are directed by Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets, The Outsider (2020)).

Alongside Stevens, the cast includes Judith Light, Aasif Mandvi, CCH Pounder, Stephen Root, and Marin Ireland.

The Terror: Devil in Silver premieres on Thursday, May 7, on AMC+ and Shudder, with a new episode airing weekly until June 11.
