MGM+ has confirmed that the popular series From will officially end with a fifth and final season, providing the story with a clearly planned conclusion.

The decision to renew From for a fifth season comes even before the start of season four this upcoming Sunday. Season four will further heighten the tensions in the mysterious town where everyone who enters becomes trapped. As the residents get closer to the truth, their quest becomes increasingly dangerous and unpredictable.

Central questions remain unresolved, such as the identity and motives of the mysterious Man in Yellow, the possible key to escape hidden in the revelations around Jade and Tabitha, and the question of how long Boyd can maintain moral and physical leadership as the town continues to fall apart.

The role of new residents in the escalating events also remains an important element, with season four clearly opening doors that might have been better left closed.

Season five will go into production later this year in Halifax (Nova Scotia) and is expected to premiere in 2027. This will give the series a completed storyline, something that creator John Griffin, showrunner Jeff Pinkner, and director Jack Bender (Lost, Game of Thrones) are explicitly aiming for.

In a joint statement, they emphasize that they have worked from the beginning with the idea that the story would eventually have a definitive end, and they are grateful to now have that opportunity. They promise that the final episodes will provide answers but will also raise new questions as the story moves towards an emotional and intense conclusion.

The series is praised for its mix of mystery and horror and has revolved since the beginning around the struggle of the residents to survive in a place that won't let them escape.

Lead actor Harold Perrineau heads an ensemble cast including Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Hannah Cheramy, and Simon Webster, alongside a large group of regular and recurring actors who shape the town and its complex dynamics.
