Dan Stevens, known from Downton Abbey, is the second major addition to the cast of the Showtime series Dexter: Resurrection, following the earlier announcement of Brian Cox and the return of Uma Thurman.
Dan Stevens
Stevens will play Owen Stark, also known as the Five Borough Killer, a new serial killer who will play a central role as the antagonist in season two. His character is portrayed as a sadistic and manipulative murderer who, similar to the notorious Zodiac Killer, challenges the police with threatening calls announcing future murders. When he actually follows through on these threats, he spreads panic in New York and puts the city and the police under immense pressure.
Season two builds on the events of the first season, in which Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, wakes from a coma after being shot by his son Harrison. Determined to right his wrongs, Dexter moves to New York to find his son.
With the addition of Stevens as the new major adversary, alongside Cox as the mysterious New York Ripper, season two seems set to deliver an even more intense and dangerous storyline, where multiple serial killers and personal conflicts converge.
Details about the exact plot of the second season are being kept under wraps for now.
