Disney+ and Hulu unveiled the first trailer for Goosebumps (2023): The Vanishing at New York Comic Con.
In the sneak peek, David Schwimmer becomes possessed by something sinister buried deep within the earth as he tries to unravel a thirty-year-old mystery and unleashes a supernatural entity on New York City.

16207 Goosebumps (2023) s2

The second season of Goosebumps (2023), subtitled The Vanishing, follows twins Cece (Jayden Bartels) and Devin Brewer (Sam McCarthy) as they spend the summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn with their divorced father Anthony (Schwimmer). A threat looms and they soon realize there are dark secrets among them, setting off a chain of events that unravel a deep mystery.

In this eight-part season, Schwimmer plays Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor who has immersed himself in science and mystery.

After his brother went missing with a group of children in 1994, who local teens believe were "killed by ghosts", Anthony investigates evidence from the crime scene, which leads to him being infected with a mysterious symbiotic organism.

Meanwhile, more children go missing and it's up to Cece and Devin to stop what their father has taken over.

Ana Ortiz, Elijah M. Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, Francesca Noel and Stony Blyden also star.

Fans of the popular book series by R.L. Stine will recognize elements from Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, The Girl Who Cried Monster, The Ghost Next Door and Welcome to Camp Nightmare, all of which served as inspiration for the second season.

Developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, the showrunner is Hilary Winston. They are executive producers along with Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment's Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O'Malley, Karl Frankenfield and James Eagan.
