Goosebumps (2023) canceled by Disney+ after two seasons

Disney+ has decided to end the anthology series Goosebumps (2023), based on the popular book series by R.L. Stine, after two seasons.
Producer Sony Pictures TV, which owns the rights to the books, will now offer the series to other channels and platforms, and is also exploring new creative directions for the franchise. The source material is extensive: Stine wrote over 200 stories, spanning the original series, spinoffs, and short story collections.

Goosebumps (2023)

The Disney+ version of Goosebumps (2023) was conceived as an anthology series. The first season launched in October 2023, just before Halloween, and spent four weeks in the Nielsen top 10 of original streaming series. Season two, Goosebumps: The Vanishing, debuted in January 2025 but failed to match those ratings and failed to land in the top 10.

To date, viewers worldwide have watched a combined 118 million hours of the series, including 75 million in the United States and 43 million in 16 international markets.

The season one cast included Justin Long, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, Will Price, and Rachael Harris.

Season two featured a new main cast of David Schwimmer, Jayden Bartels, Sam McCarthy, Ana Ortiz, Elijah M. Cooper, Francesca Noel, and Galilea La Salvia.

The series was developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, who also previously directed the first Goosebumps film.

The old children's series was very nice, but you should see that as nostalgia and leave it alone.
For me this was the first series that had thriller-like moments and as a child I loved that.

It'll never be as good as it used to be. And that's evident, because not enough people are watching.
