Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama series from the ABC channel, which has been shown for sixteen seasons since 2005.
Grey's Anatomy involves Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo), a surgery assistant at the (non-existent) Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. The series has various main characters. The name of the series is an allusion to the title of the book Gray's Anatomy, which has long been one of the most well-known works in the field of human anatomy.

Actor Justin Chambers has been playing doctor Alex Karev's role in Grey's Anatomy for sixteen seasons, but has now decided to stop. “There is not a good time to say goodbye to a show and character who have defined my life over the past fifteen years,” the actor says in a statement. “But lately I wanted to take on different roles and take a different path in my career. I will soon be fifty and happy with my wonderful, encouraging wife and five wonderful children, so now is the time.”
Justin Chambers and Ellen Pompeo are the only actors who have portrayed their character in all the seasons of Grey's Anatomy.
