NBC Cancels Grosse Pointe Garden Society After Just One Season

NBC has decided to cancel the series Grosse Pointe Garden Society.
The decision to cancel Grosse Pointe Garden Society comes five weeks after the season finale aired — which now also happens to be the final episode. NBCUniversal initially investigated moving the series to streaming service Peacock, but no deal was reached. The series, which was created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs (known for Good Girls), is being canceled after one season.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society

Set in the upscale Detroit suburb of Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Garden Society centers on four garden club members, played by AnnaSophia Robb, Melissa Fumero, Ben Rappaport, and Aja Naomi King, whose lives are intertwined by scandal and a shared secret: a murder no one wants to talk about.

The series premiered on NBC in February, paired with Suits LA on Sunday nights after football season. The series underperformed there (as did Suits LA, which has also since been canceled), prompting NBC to move the series to Friday nights in April. After the move, the series grew somewhat in audience, but with an average of less than 2 million viewers per episode (based on Nielsen’s seven-day ratings), it remained the least-watched NBC regular series of the season.

Exact streaming numbers were not released, but the series fell short of the list of 112 television series (broadcast, cable or streaming) that averaged 5 million or more viewers in the 2024-25 season.
