Paramount+'s Happy Face is coming to Streamz

The psychological drama series Happy Face is inspired by a true story told by the daughter of a serial killer.Happy Face is inspired by the true story of Melissa Jesperson-Moore, who discovered at the age of fifteen that her father was the serial killer known as the Happy Face Killer. After decades of no contact, he finds a way to re-enter his daughter’s life. She will race against time to find out if an innocent man will be sentenced to death for a crime her father committed. Along the way, she will discover the impact her father had on the families of his victims and must also confront her own identity.

After discovering her father Keith Jesperson as a teenager is a notorious serial killer, Melissa cuts off all contact while he is serving life in prison. She changes her name and tries to erase her family ties. But fifteen years later, her father finds a way to reconnect with her, and she can no longer hide her history.

Melissa must face her father again if she wants to find out who the ninth, hitherto unknown, victim of the Happy Face killer is. A name that refers to the smileys he drew on the evidence of his own crimes.

The crime series delves into the complicated father-daughter relationship between the two when they meet again, interspersed with flashbacks from the past when Melissa did not yet know what kind of monster her father really was.

Annaleigh Ashford plays Melissa Moore, Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Dennis Quaid plays her father and takes on the role of the notorious serial killer. James Wolk plays the role of Melissa's husband Ben.
