Hart of Dixie - Season 2
'Hart of Dixie' is an American drama series that premiered on The CW on September 26, 2011. 'Hart of Dixie' tells the story of Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson, 'The O.C.'). Zoe is a New Yorker who's training to be a hart surgeon. Her dreams have recently fallen apart due to an unexpected break-up and the loss of a scholarship at the hospital where her dad is working. After this, Zoe decides to move to Bluebell, Alabama. In order to be reconsidered for the scholarship next year, Zoe has to gain experience as a general practitioner for twelve months. This is supposed to improve her social skills as a doctor. The man who offered Zoe a job after her graduation, is named Harley Wilkes and works in Bluebell. Four years after he made the offer, Zoe decides to accept.
In season two, Zoe decides to stay a little longer in Bluebell than the mandatory twelve months. She is facing a dilemma. Will she choose George (Scott Porter, 'Friday Night Lights'), who left Lemon Breeland (Jaime King, 'Gary Unmarried') at the altar, or hunk and bartender Wade (Wilson Bethel, 'The Young and the Restless')? Previously, George was always inaccessible to Zoe, but she's just slept with Wade. This interesting new love plot is what season two is all about. However, in this season we follow more story lines compared to season one. Some main characters have gained a new love, which also gets the necessary attention in this new season.
Fortunately, the traditional community of Bluebell hasn't changed a bit. Even though she's a real New Yorker, Zoe has more or less managed to adapt to the small town in the South. The traditional Southern festivals are a recurring theme of this series., as in the previous series In season two, Zoe is still not fully aware of the importance of some festivities, which causes many comical scenes. In addition, there's always a problem which needs solving in a funny way. Naturally, this happens with the aid of the entire community of Bluebell. Luckily, Zoe is almost fully accepted in the community and is often called to help solve those obstacles.
The downside of the second season of 'Hart of Dixie', however, is also the love plot mentioned before. This story line is completely stuck. Near the end of the season, nothing has really changed about this, or other love situations. Every episode remains fun and relaxing, but the series itself doesn't make progress. All the episodes seem to resemble each other. In the season's finale it's still not clear who Zoe will choose. However, the writers did get the hint given by some fans and added a nice plot twist. So the question is now: will it be George Tucker, Wade Kinsella, or newcomer Jonah Breeland (Travis van Winkle, 'Transformers')?
