Netflix Renews Hemlock Grove for Season 2

Hemlock Grove, a riveting and eerie mystery from executive producer Eli Roth and based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, has been renewed for a second season. The gothic horror thriller debuted on Netflix in April and users were able to watch the entire 13-episode first season all at once, smiliar to its roll-out of the revival of Arrested Development and Kevin Spacey's House of Cards.

Hemlock Grove is about a young girl that is brutally murdered and found near the former Godfrey steel mill. As rumors mount, two of the suspects in her killing - Peter Rumancek, a 17-year-old Gypsy trailer trash kid rumored to be a werewolf, and Roman, the heir to the Godfrey estate - decide to find the killer themselves.

"The worldwide fan response to 'Hemlock Grove' was phenomenal," said Roth. "Netflix members loved the potent combination of sexy monsters, mystery, and the dark family soap opera that ended with a huge twist, leaving audiences worldwide totally shocked. Season 1 was just a warm up for what we have in store for Season 2. Get ready to be scared in ways you never expected."

Ten new episodes of the series will premiere next year (a shorter season than the first round, which was 13 episodes). Writer-producer Charles H. Eglee (The Walking Dead, The Shield) will join the show as an executive producer.
