Flemish Streamz Original Holy Sh!t soon to be seen on BNNVARA

The Flemish dramedy series Holy Sh!t will soon debut in the Netherlands. The Streamz Original has been picked up by BNNVARA.
Holy Sh!t is available in Belgium via Streamz and previously made an international impression during its world premiere at the eighth Canneseries, the prestigious television festival in Cannes. The series received rave reviews both there and in its home country, with special praise for Geoffrey Enthoven's direction and Mona Mina Leon's impressive lead role.

Holy Sh!t

Holy Sh!t distinguishes itself through a unique combination of sharp humor and genuine emotion. The series tells the story of Yasmine, a young woman with Tourette syndrome, who tries to keep her life completely under control. When her previously unknown father unexpectedly reappears, her carefully constructed world is completely shaken up.

What follows is a moving and often hilarious search for identity, family, and self-love. Yasmine, trapped for years within her own safe confines, slowly dares to open up to life and to the people around her—her family, her students, but especially to herself.

With her honesty, sensitivity, and raw humor, Holy Sh!t touches on universal themes that are both touching and hilarious—a combination that has now put the series on the map in the Netherlands.

Holy Sh!t has been available since yesterday on NPO Start, the video-on-demand service of the Dutch Public Broadcasting Corporation. A linear broadcast on NPO3 will follow later.

I just watched the first episode on NPO Start. The scenes with Tourette's are hilarious, but it's definitely not a comedy. The first episode also has its fair share of drama. I'm going to watch the rest this weekend. It's interesting.
