The crime series Home Before Dark - produced by Anonymous Content and Paramount Television Studios - was made by Dana Fox (Ben and Kate) and Dara Resnik (Daredevil). The executive producer is Joy Gorman Wettels (13 Reasons Why).

Home Before Dark is inspired by the work of Hilde Lysiak, a young investigative journalist who was the first to uncover a murder in her hometown of Selinsgrove at the age of nine, and to bring out the news in her self-started newspaper, Orange Street News. Her work received negative feedback as some stated that nine-year-olds should not investigate murders.
