Homecoming's second season will have a different story and lead actress. Janelle Monáe will portray the main character. Her character wakes up on a rowboat, which is floating in a lake. She doesn't know who she is or how she ended up there. The quest to figure out her identity leads her to the Geist Group centre, the unconventional healthcare company behind the Homecoming Initiative. The second season of the American thriller series will premiere on Amazon Prime on the 22nd of May.

Stephen James will return as Waler Cruz, and Hong Chau will also return as Audrey Temple. Chris Cooper will portray Leonard Geist, the founder of the company. Joan Cusack has been cast as Francine Bunda.
The series is based on the Gimlet Media podcast from Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg of the same name. They're both showrunners and executive producers. Kyle Patrick Alvarez has directed all the episodes of the second season.
