Problems arise among family heirs in the House of Guinness trailer

The new Netflix series House of Guinness, from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, promises a historical family chronicle filled with intrigue and conflict.
House of Guinness is set in 19th-century New York and Dublin, following the death of patriarch Sir Benjamin Guinness in 1868. His passing triggers a family drama when it is revealed that two children — Benjamin Guinness (played by Fionn O'Shea) and his sister Anne Plunket Guinness (Emily Fairn) — do not receive any inheritance.

The inheritance and leadership of the famous Irish brewery with its 'black gold' go to the eldest sons Arthur Guinness (Anthony Boyle) and Edward Guinness (Louis Partridge). This leads to a bitter family feud, with Arthur being told that their father's death “stirred up a hornet's nest.”

The series intertwines these personal conflicts with broader themes such as the struggle for Irish independence and generational tensions.

The cast is impressive and includes Dervla Kirwan, Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, Ann Skelly, Seamus O'Hara, Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Michael Colgan, Jessica Reynolds, Hilda Fay, and Elizabeth Dulau.

House of Guinness premieres on Thursday, September 25. Watch the trailer below.
