"The script is currently being worked on," said Bloys about George R.R Martin and Ryan Condal's project. House of the Dragon, written by Condal and based on Martin's book Fire & Blood, takes place 300 years before the events in Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen and the ancestors of Daenerys. HBO has ordered ten episodes to be made. Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik directs the series.
House of the Dragon was one of the four remaining Game of Thrones spin-offs that HBO considered. The other projects are currently on hold, which can be both temporary and final, Bloys reported.
