How I Met Your Father canceled after two seasons

How I Met Your Father canceled after two seasons

There will not be a third season for How I Met Your Father. Hulu has canceled the series led by Hilary Duff after two seasons.
News of the decision comes on the heels of Hulu also canceling popular comedy The Great after three seasons, and Disney+ not going forward with two new series and cancelling Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. after two seasons amid companywide streaming content cuts at Disney.

How I Met Your Father

In How I Met Your Father, written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, in the near future, Sophie (Kim Cattrall) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie (Hilary Duff) and her close-knit group of friends – Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Tien Tran) and Sid (Suraj Sharma) — are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

Aptaker and Berger executive produced alongside HIMYM creators/exec producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and the original series’ director/exec producer Pam Fryman, as well as Adam Londy. Duff served as a producer. 20th Television was the studio.

A standalone sequel to CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, HIMYF featured cameos by original series stars Cobie Smulders (as Robin Scherbatsky) and Neil Patrick Harris (as Barney Stinson).

No surprise, lame series. HIMYM was a lot more fun to watch.

What you say is correct, HIMYM was more fun. But that series also had several big stars from the comedy industry. And HIMYF missed the BARNEY STINSON-like character. But in this day and age, the Barney Stinson character is not really possible anymore! Hellaa!!!! I think the episode where he made a guest appearance was perhaps one of the most watched episodes. I thought it was a funny series with more potential! But perhaps the series was less aware of the fact that it was more set in modern times. And that they didn't want to fall back on HIMYM's jokes too much. Which is what made it so funny.
